Our training will offer New Growers from any background the opportunity to gain horticultural skills and participate in all stages of Crop Production. The course offers a broad overview and a comprehensive depth of knowledge and experience.
Our intention is to teach and promote agro – ecological organic horticulture methods, encourage further research and exploration into the subject and inspire New Growers to grow organic, seasonal food for themselves, their family and their community.
Our course will cover practical knowledge and practise of building soil, bed preparation, sowing, transplanting, propagating and crop care. Theoretically we will cover Organic and No Dig Principles and Practise, Soil and Nutrient Cycling, Natural Cycles and Processes, Limiting Factors affecting Growth, Biodiversity and Integrated Pest and Disease Management.
The course runs one day a week for 12 weeks. In 2026 this runs April – July on Fridays from 10 – 3pm.
