CAT’s Graduate School of the Environment’s MSc in Sustainable Food and Natural Resources explores a variety of issues linked to food system sustainability, focusing on climate mitigation and adaptation in food and natural resources, natural climate solutions, and food and land management systems.
Key areas of study include:
• Social, political and economic aspects of sustainable food production and natural resource management
• The actual and potential use of plant breeding and agricultural technologies to support sustainable agriculture
• The effects of industrial-scale farming, agriculture and materials production on ecosystems and our environment
• The impacts of economic structures and environmental change on diet, health, sustainability and community empowerment
• Underlying theory in a range of related topics, such as soil ecology and health, environmental impacts of materials and design for sustainability
Our taught modules offer an immersive learning experience through lectures, talks, seminars and workshops delivered by our expert in-house-staff with specialist insights from visiting experts in industry and academia. Courses can also be studied full or part-time, and our course structure allows you to choose the mode and level of study that suits you, helping you fit your studies around your life and existing commitments.
The MSc in Sustainable Food and Natural Resources is created and delivered by CAT and is validated by Liverpool John Moores University.
